A young Chinese blacksmith apprentice, Bing Zheng, devoted endless hours in his owner’s shop, driven by a singular mission: to craft superior, razor-sharp knives. Resourcefully utilizing discarded file blades as his raw material, Bing breathed life into robust, keen-edged blades.As Bing's reputation for quality and design prowess spread, he soon captured the attention of the industry. Each blade bearing his mark was meticulously crafted by hand, a testament to his unwavering commitment to excellence. These legendary blades quickly gained favor among professionals nationwide.By 1980, amidst a shifting global landscape, Bing and his eldest son, Xiao Zheng, seized the opportunity to embark on a new chapter of success. Establishing their own factory in Yangdong, Guangdong, they swiftly rose to prominence as the preferred Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for renowned western brands. Their commitment to unparalleled quality quickly became their hallmark, as they produced hundreds of thousands of sought-after blades for esteemed companies like Buck®, SOG®, Boker®, CRKT®, and Kershaw Knives®.
In 1995, Bing, along with his daughter Annie Zheng and her husband Davis Zhang, established a new knife factory specializing in balisong knives. This joint venture experienced substantial market growth over the years. Building on this success, they launched the WithArmour® brand in 2010, focusing on everyday carry (EDC) and tactical knives and gear. Since then, the brand has seen continuous growth and expansion.Remaining true to Bing’s original philosophy, WithArmour® maintains a commitment to staying at the forefront of technology and delivering top-quality manufacturing. The WithArmour® factory was the first to utilize wire-cutting on high-carbon blades and vacuum heat treatment for exceptional finishes. Today, blade perfection is achieved through digital laser and precision grinding, ensuring that speed does not compromise quality thanks to computerized CNC milling machines and physical vapor deposition (PVD).WithArmour® is continuously expanding its global footprint, introducing new product lines and entering new markets worldwide. Presently, its sales are on the rise in numerous countries including Japan, Germany, Russia, Italy, Greece, Singapore, Australia, Chile, The Netherlands, New Zealand, and the United States.Drawing from over 75 years of collective industry experience, WithArmour® is solidifying its position as a global leader in tactical gear and innovation.
