It is the wrong steel for my opinion.. If you use it with your hands without gloves..the steel between the grip starts corrosion...the whole knife is not corrosion free and that is for a outdoor knife nowadays not acceptable. I am disappointed.
Using oil for a knife which made for daily work in the nature or also at home to keep it corrosion free is a wring concept for an outdoor tool. That's why only two stars. I am a soldier and have a lot of experiences using a knife outdoor or on duty.The knife is big and sharp and solid... But again.. The sort of steel is a wring choice.

Comes excellently packaged and razor sharp out of the box. One-knife-fits-all for bushcraft camping: heavy and definitely strong enough to baton (like a little machete), sharp scandi for feathersticking and larger bushcraft woodworking. Good handling if you are used to working with heavier knives. Edge retention is very very good, no chips so far after use, heat treatment on the knife seems really well done. The Kydex sheath is top. Much recommended.

Here's some initial feedback on the Big Muk and some pictures.
I like it, but I would have requested a larger lanyard hole. When chopping, I like to secure a knife with a lanyard so it doesn't slip out of my hand. However, the lanyard isn't needed for cutting. A larger hole is needed to quickly attach and detach it.
I'm now using a screw hole in the handle to be able to work flexibly with or without a lanyard.
Firesteel now has bungee cord.

Very impressed with the heft of this knife. Excellent quality and the packaging shows just how much the team cares about what they are building. Going to be purchasing more soon! P. S. The knife is scary sharp!
